$161 million for 7 years? Are you kidding me? I have a 14 year old son that has no interest in professional baseball even though I grew up on the sport. The salaries that are rampant in baseball are killing my love for the game! Nobody in professional baseball, or other sports, is worth that much money! As a society we deify the professional athelete until we lose all perspective on the reality of life. They are not worth this much money.
Please understand that I am a Red Sox fan and therefore I have been a rabid follower of all that is MLB. I cannot do it anymore!
Please stop buying merchandise and going to games and let the owners know that we think what they are doing is insane. THEY PLAY A GAME! Let's start giving the money to our teachers, soldiers and other important people in the world; not someone who can hit a ball 500 feet!
